No family should be forced to borrow money to bury someone they love. Huqooq Al-Ibad Trust provides free Kafan & Dafan the shroud, the ritual washing, and the burial itself to families who cannot afford a dignified farewell, in Pakistan and across our international helpline network. This work carries forward the same conviction that founded this trust: that dignity is a right, not a privilege reserved for those who can pay for it.
Huqooq Al-Ibad Trust was founded on a single conviction: no human being should be forced to survive through begging when society has the means to offer something better. That conviction became Beggars Free, our founding mission a structured effort to remove street begging by replacing it with education, skills, and sustainable livelihoods, not one-time sympathy.
That same conviction now drives the largest part of our work: Kafan & Dafan for every needy family. Because dignity is not only a question of how a person lives it is also a question of how they are laid to rest. We believe those two questions deserve the same answer.
We are not a one-time relief effort. We are a standing trust, working through community networks, trained volunteers, and international partners, so that no family ever has to face either hardship alone.
We provide the shroud, arrange the ritual washing, support burial and grave arrangements, and staff a helpline that never closes. This support is offered freely to any family that needs it regardless of faith, nationality, or income.
Removing street begging from society by replacing it with education, skills training, and sustainable livelihoods. It is where this trust began, and it remains part of who we are.
Grief on its own is heavy enough. Too many families carry a second weight alongside it: the cost of a shroud, a grave, transport, and the rites owed to their dead.
