At Haqooqul Ibad Beggars Free Trust, we believe the solution is not temporary charity. It is structured, sustainable support through community transformation.
Huqooq Al-Ibad “the rights of people” is not a phrase we chose lightly. It is the standard we hold ourselves to.
This trust began with Beggars Free, a structured response to street begging built on a simple belief: poverty is not solved by sympathy alone, but by systems that restore independence education, skill-building, and a real path to livelihood, delivered through community centers that connect people with the institutions and support already meant to serve them.
As our work grew, we met a need just as urgent, and far less spoken about: families who could not afford to bury their own dead with dignity. A shroud. A grave. A proper washing before burial. Costs that seem small until a family has nothing left, and grief itself becomes a debt they must repay.
That gap became Kafan & Dafan for every needy family now the largest and fastest growing part of our work, serving Muslim and non-Muslim families alike, across Pakistan and our expanding international network.
Because dignity should never depend on income. Because grief is difficult enough without a debt attached to it. Because a society is measured not only by how it treats the living, but by how it honors the dead.
